How to test Antivirus software, working or not : EICAR Test

   Are you aware, working of your antivirus software, it's working or not ? You can test your antivirus, the process is called EICAR test, which will work on any antivirus software. This EICAR test was devloped by European Institute of Computer Antivirus Research. Mostly antivirus programmers used it to test the proper functioning of antivirus/antimalware software.

Here is a step by step process to test your antivirus.

• Open a notepad and copy the below code on it and save the notepad with "test.com".

• Now run the antivirus scan on this file.

If your antivirus is working properly on your computer, then it should generate a warning to delete after scaning. Otherwise you need to install any working antivirus.

Free SMS service on Gmail in India : Google

Now in India Google extended its free SMS service and it's available on eight Mobile Service Operators : Relience, Tata DOCOMO, Tata Indicom, Aircel, Idea, Loop Mobile, MTS and Vodafone. This free SMS service is available now in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Gujrat, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, West Bangal, Andman & Nicobar, Assam, North East.

This service is available to  regular Indian Gmail users users from October 10. This service is not applicable on Google Talk, installed on PC.

Gmail chat has a block option if you did not want to receive future messages from the sender. Type the word BLOCK and send it to the same address and later you can unblock, by replying with the word UNBLOCK.

If Gmail chat recipients in India do not wish to receive any sms or messages from any Gmail user,  they can stop the service from sending them messages write "STOP" to +918082801060 and to reactivate, SMS to that no.

How to hide any file inside an Image File

    You can send any type of file like .EXE, .FLV, .TXT etc inside a image file. Hiding any file inside an Image is called ‘Steganography’. This method uses a JPEG image file to store any type of file inside the image.

Follow these steps to hide any file inside an image……

1    1. First you get a JPEG file and a TXT file (You may choose any .EXE file as well).

2    2.Then select the file you want to hide and get compressed file with ZIP or RAR archive.

3    3. Then open up cmd prompt, click Start>Run> cmd and press Enter. You will see current folder set to documents directory, change to root directory c:\ by typing “cd \” where your files located.

       4. Then combine both the Image and RAR file to create a new image file.Type in cmd prompt  “Copy /b Sunset.jpg+Wanttohide.rar NewImage.jpg” , it will create a new image file of same format inside it.

5    5. New image file will be created with increased size. Now we need to get back, 

6. Right-click on Newimage .jpg and Open with “WinRar Archiver”. Another way  to open the image file change the extension .JPG to .RAR and open it.

3 Different passwords to Log into Facebook:

You can log into your facebook account via 3 passwords, but not many people are aware of this facebook feature. Facebook main aim to made easier to handle their account.

2. Second way to type your password in toggled caps (caps lock) of the original password where upper case will be lower case and lower case in upper case. When you typed the exact same password in the reverse case, facebook accept it.

"Unity in Diversity" Doodle 4 Google competition for 2012

             Google India has announced the "Doodle 4 Google" competition for 2012 with the theme of  "Unity in Diversity". In this competition Google India invites all children between the ages of 5 to 16 years to share their creativity on Google Logo.

The winning Doodle will be featured on the Google India HomePage on Children's day 14'th November.

This competition will be grouped into 3 categories :

Group 1 :- Students from class 1 to 3.
Group 2 :- Students from class 4 to 6.
Group 2 :- Students from class 7 to 8.

This time India divide in four regions - East, West, North, South. Then three shortlists from every region across each of the three groups. One winner from each group will be selected then Jury chooses the final winning Doodle from all participants.

Apple I-Phone 4 and 4S price slashed in India

     Apple spokesperson has announced a cut in prices of the I-Phone 4 and 4S to preparing for the launch of the I-Phone 5 in India.

The I-Phone 4S (16 GB) is now available in 41,000 Rs, cut in  price 3,100 Rs. I-Phone 4 (8 GB) is now available in 28,000 Rs., it's earlier price was 37,900 Rs., cut in price 9,600 Rs.
